Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Re-Issue for 2008

Finally after months of speculation after years of lobbying and with the promise remaining unfulfilled by the intriguing new Diver range, JLC have finally announced that Polaris will be reissued for SIHH 2008. Here's hoping it wiil look something like the original.

I hope they've been listening and will produce a true homage piece for this cult watch.

It'll be interesting to see if this sells well. The similar styled Amvox bombed in the dealers and most buyers aren't really that clued into the differences. Only a hardcore few really know of Polaris and even fewer will pay out for it. 563 pieces I hear - that's way too many. Look forward to picking up a bargain on the grey market.....

As a person who rates practicality as a priority in judging a watch the Polaris is attractive...easy to read at a glance and especially in poor light conditions, although I would not consider taking it on a dive where it might get banged about. Is the strap rubber? The stitches suggest leather..surely not! The positions of the hands do not seem correct:at ten past the hour the hour hand would not be where it is.
